Counseling for international degree-seeking students

On the web page of TU Berlin under the topic “International Student Counseling“, you are provided with a PDF-Document called “International Student Guide”. The document gives you an overview of information that will help you have a good start in your studies at TU Berlin. 

Under the sub-menu “About Us – Team” you will also find contact information of representatives that can help with any further questions. They can also provide information and regulations regarding the topic “right of residence” and will even help you extend your residency permit. You can visit them at their office during consultation hours or if you make an appointment via email.

At the beginning of each semester, the TU Berlin offers introduction days (two-days) for international students.

Counseling and support for international exchange students

On the following website you will find contact information of the Administrative Exchange Student Advisors at TU Berlin. You will have a different advisor depending on if your home university is located in Europe (Erasmus+) or overseas. 

For students who are planning an exchange semester/year at the TU Berlin, there is an overview of important dates and deadlines for current and upcoming semesters under “Dates and Deadlines for Incoming Exchange Students”. 

You will also find information about applying for a visa or residence permit under “Information for Exchange Students Exchange Application Visa”.

It is important to mention that you must request a transcript with an overview of all the courses you have attended at the end of your stay at the TU Berlin. This will not be issued to you automatically. You will find further information about this and the form you must fill in under “Information for Exchange Students Teaching and Studies TU Berlin Transcript”.

The Buddy-Program that is offered for exchange students at the TU Berlin could also be helpful. You will be assigned a TU Student (“Buddy”) who can help you find your way around Berlin and the university. In your application, you can indicate whether you want to participate in the Buddy-Program or not.
